The firm has been in existence as a continuous entity since 1917, when it began as Briggs and McHenry in the Central Savings Bank building on South Grand Street in Monroe, Louisiana. The offices were moved to the Bernhardt Building at the corner of DeSiard and North Second Streets when that building was built in the late 1920's. In 1972 the firm moved into its present modern facilities, which have continually undergone renovation and change to provide better services to clients.

The firm consists of six partners, including a tax attorney, associates, paralegals, abstractor, secretaries, office administrator, accountant, a receptionist, and couriers.

The firm maintains a library of approximately 8,000 volumes which includes regional and federal case reporters, materials relating to specific areas of the law, and federal tax materials. A Westlaw Computer Database and Internet access augment these resources.

All time-keeping, billing, and financial reports are computerized. All attorneys and staff are fully networked on a LAN using Novell Netware, with desktop faxing capability and Internet access.

Attorneys practicing with the firm have been educated in Louisiana State University, Loyola, Mississippi College, Regent University, and Tulane Law Schools and have a wide variety of professional skills and community involvement and interests.
